1.  What features are covered under Medikin Online Professional?
Medikin Online Professional is web enabled file routing platform, which helps you to have better control and to efficiently manage the flow of the audio and document files in the system. This platform covers many features both on the doctor side as well as the MT side. On the doctor side, the system is able to capture audio files dictated on several modes such as digital recorders, toll free telephone dictations, PC dictation, in house dictation system, send e-mail notifications, archive both the audio and transcribed files for contractual time period, and retrieve the files based upon various criteria. It also has file status tracking, e-signature, fax/e-mail, internal messaging, and several online report generation options. On the MT side, the system has similar options to those available on the doctor side, except for that of e-signature. As MT Administrator you can manage the flow of files in the system, decide upon separate workflow settings for the doctors as per their individual requirements, track the file status, set up customized billing for the doctors, and generate online billing, TAT, account activity and QA feedback reports.

2.  What is meant by "Medikin services are hardware and software independent"?
Medikin Online Professional is web-enabled software, which does not require any specific hardware or software at any user’s machine. Users only need a browser (Internet Explorer version 5.0 and above) and an Internet connection to access Medikin Online Professional.

3.  Do I need to purchase any special audio player to play the audio files? Where do I transcribe, do I need to follow any specific software or template?
Medikin Online Professional is the only web-based platform on which audio and document files move from the doctor to transcriptionist and back again seamlessly, resulting in no change to your current transcription procedures. Also, you do not need any special audio player or software/template for transcription, as Medikin Online can be easily integrated with your platform (if any). Audio files can be picked up from your doctors’ machine, delivered on your platform and transcribed reports can be picked from your platform and delivered back to the doctors.

4.  What Internet speed is required to access Medikin Online Professional?
Medikin Online Professional works on a thin client technology where all processing takes place on Medikin servers, before being processed and sent to the user's machine. This means that there is no need for high-speed Internet connectivity at your end. Many of our clients function with a 28kbps dial-up connection without difficulty.

5.  What dictation modes are available with Medikin Online Professional?
All the possible digital dictation modes ranging from toll free number to hand held recorders and PDAs are available for your doctors to dictate on Medikin Online Professional. Direct PC-based dictation systems with advanced built-in scanners are also available for hands free dictation.

6.  How do the audio files get from the doctor to me?
Within 5 minutes of a doctor’s dictation, the doctor’s audio file is available on Medikin Online Professional for transcription. You receive an email notification of the upload with details such as doctor name, audio file name and type, length of the audio file and stat notification. You can login to Medikin Online Professional with your assigned ID and password from any Internet connected PC and work on any file.

7.  How secure is Internet transmission on Medikin Online Professional?
Medikin Online Professional uses the same 128-bit encryption technology for file transfer that banks and other financial institutions use to transfer sensitive credit card information, so that all transmissions and processing are secure.

8.  What are online records?
Medikin Online Professional stores audio files i.e. dictations and transcribed reports, online for the contractual period as per doctors’ requirements. They can be retrieved online using your ID and password. This eliminates the need to maintain a paper copy of records since they can be retrieved, edited, printed, faxed or emailed online.

9.  What are the initial setup charges? Are there any additional hardware purchases?
There is a one-time setup fee per doctor. After that, you pay as you go with no minimum billing or contractual agreement. There are no hidden charges whatsoever. There is no hardware or software purchase needed for using Medikin's services.

10.  What savings can I expect by using Medikin services?
