1.  What are the different Medikin service platforms?
Medikin Online Professional - Basic transcription platform for individual MT's and small MTSOs Medikin Online Enterprise - Enterprise version of the basic transcription platform combining MT Admin Login and co-branding for mid size MTSOs Medikin Online Elite - Elite version of the ASP suite covering full feature Admin login along with MTAdmin Login for large MTSOs

2.  What is Medikin Online Enterprise?
Medikin Online Enterprise is the most robust file routing web enabled platform available, designed specifically for the Medium MTSOs having a staff of 5 to 50 MTs/Editors. It includes an MTAdmin login that enables an MT company administrator to efficiently control and manage the work distribution and file flow in the system with the help of its advanced online features.

3.  What is meant by "Medikin services are hardware and software independent"? Do I need any special audio player or any specific software or template in order to transcribe?
Medikin Online Enterprise does not require any specific hardware or software at any user’s machine. Users only need a browser (Internet Explorer version 5.0 and above) and an Internet connection. Medikin Online Enterprise is only a platform on which audio and document files move from doctor to transcriptionist and back again, so no change in your normal transcription practice is necessary. Additionally, you do not need any special audio player or software/template for transcription.

4.  What Internet speed is required to access Medikin Online?
Medikin Online works on a thin client technology where all processing takes place on Medikin's servers, which are backed by high speed, dedicated Internet lines. After processing takes place on our servers, the result is sent to the client's machine. This means that there is no need for high-speed Internet connectivity at your end. Many of our clients function with a 28kbps dial-up connection without any difficulty.

5.  What dictation modes are available with Medikin Online Enterprise?
All possible digital dictation modes ranging from toll free numbers to hand held recorders to PDAs are available for your doctors to dictate on Medikin Online. Direct PC-based dictation systems with advanced built-in scanners are also available for hands free dictation.

6.  What online features are available for the doctors on Medikin Online?
Every doctor gets a personalized ID and password to access the system. The medical records officer gets a centralized login ID and password to monitor the work of all the doctors belonging to a particular clinic/hospital/group. Online features of the system include online audio and document archival, electronic patient records, advanced search module, ability to generate online reports like billing, TAT and account activity, file status tracking ability, e-mail notifications on document delivery, auto e-mail/fax features and an e-signature option to lock the files on the system to avoid any kind of tampering.

7.  What is the complete transcription procedure on Medikin Online?
Within approximately 5 minutes of your doctor's dictation, either by digital recorder or toll-free number, the audio file is available online for transcription. You will receive an e-mail notification of file uploads with details including doctor's name, audio file name and type, audio file length and if it is marked "stat." You as the MT Admin can then distribute the files automatically (using our file distribution feature) or manually to your MTs and QAs. As per your set work distribution criteria, the files will automatically go from MT to QA1 to QA2 (if required) and then to the doctor. You can monitor the entire procedure online and assign files to different transcribers/editors at any stage of transcription.

8.  What is co-branding?
Transcription companies can co-brand/private-label the Medikin Online services with their own brand name and logo such that the Medikin name is transparent. Doctors/MTs login directly from your web site. All e-mail notifications carry your name and logo and the toll-free number service is also transparent. Simply provide the logos and other brand specific information and we will take care of the rest. Your clients and MTs will never know that you are utilizing the services of Medikin Online.

9.  How do you set up doctor accounts and how much time does it take?
You are required to complete a standard form for every doctor account setup. The setup would then take only up to 6 hours from the time your request is made to us.

10.  What is the MT Admin login and what are its features?
MT Admin is the online control login provided for the MT Administrator from where he/she can create and manage MT/QA1/QA2 accounts, set the file flow format in the system for each doctor as per their individual requirements, decide upon the work schedule of the MTs/editors, monitor the entire transcription process (file status) online, set up customized billing for the doctors, and track the staff’s performance.

11.  Who sets up the MT/QA1/QA2 logins and the work procedure?
MT Admin has full access to create as many MT/QA1/QA2 accounts as needed, and to set the work procedure according to your requirements.

12.  How are the files assigned to MT's and QA's?
MT Admin can assign the files to MTs/QAs via a manual or auto assignment module. As soon as an audio file is assigned to an MT, he/she gets an email notification of the assignment and the file is available on his/her Medikin login for transcription. MT Admin can cancel/edit/change any such assignments at any time.

13.  How secure is Internet transmission on Medikin Online Enterprise and what about HIPAA issues?
Medikin Online uses 128-bit encryption technology for file transfer, which is the same encryption standard used by banks and other financial institutions to transfer sensitive credit card information. Therefore all of the transactions and transmissions are secure. Please refer to our HIPAA compliance policy for more details.

14.  What are online records?
Medikin Online Enterprise stores audio dictations and transcribed reports online for the contractual period. They can be retrieved online using various search criteria. This eliminates the need to maintain a paper copy of records since they can be retrieved, edited, printed, faxed and emailed online.

15.  What are the initial setup costs?
