1. What are the different Medikin service platforms?
Medikin Online Professional - Basic transcription platform for individual MT's and small MTSOs
Medikin Online Enterprise - Enterprise version of the basic transcription platform combining MT Admin screens and co-branding for mid size MTSOs
Medikin Online Elite - Elite version of the ASP suite covering full feature Master Admin login along with MTAdmin screens for large MTSOs

2. What is Medikin Online Elite?
Medikin Online Elite is the most robust platform which includes an Master Admin login, that enables an MT company to act as a full-feature ASP company on its own. One can manage the MT aspect of their operations, as well as administer multiple clinics and doctor accounts. You can manage multiple MT companies under an umbrella, and link doctor/clinic/hospital accounts to the MT companies of one's choice. One can even co-brand hospital and MT companies under one's own company name. This is very helpful for companies that have multiple clients as well as vendor MT companies.

3. What Internet speed is required to access Medikin Online?
Medikin Online works on a thin client technology where all processing takes place on Medikin's servers, which are backed by high speed, dedicated Internet lines. After processing takes place on our servers, the result is sent to the Client's machine. So there is no need for high-speed Internet connectivity at your end. Many of our clients function with a 28kbps dial-up connection without any difficulty.

4. What dictation modes are available with Medikin Online?
All possible digital dictation modes ranging from toll free numbers to hand held recorders to PDAs are available for your doctors to dictate on Medikin Online. Direct PC-based dictation systems with Elite built-in scanners are also available for hands free dictation.

5. What online features are available for the doctors on Medikin Online?
Every doctor gets his ID and password to access the system. The medical records officer gets a centralized login ID and password to monitor the work of all the doctors belonging to a particular clinic/hospital/group. Online features include online audio and document archive, electronic patient records, online reports like billing, TAT and recent activity log and auto email/fax features.

6. What is the complete transcription procedure on Medikin Online?
Within approximately 5 minutes of your doctor's dictation, either on digital recorder or toll-free number, the audio file is available online for transcription. You will receive an e-mail notification of file uploads with details including doctor's name, audio file name and type, audio file length and if it is marked "stat." You as the MT Admin can then distribute the files automatically (using our file distribution algorithm) or manually to your MTs and QAs. As per your set work distribution criteria, the files will automatically go from MT to QA1 to QA2 (if required) and then to the doctor. You can monitor the entire procedure online and assign files to different transcribers/editors at any stage of transcription.

7. What is co-branding?
Transcription companies can co-brand/private-label the Medikin Online services with their own brand name and logo such that the Medikin name is transparent. Doctors/MTs login directly from your web site. All e-mail notifications carry your name and logo and the toll-free number service is also transparent. Simply provide the logos and other brand specific information and we will take care of the rest. Your clients and MTs will never even know that you are utilizing the services of Medikin Online.

8. How do you set up doctor accounts and how much time does it take?
With Medikin Online Elite, you have the ability to create as many doctor accounts as you need and linking the accounts with MTSOs. It normally takes 2-3 minutes to set up a new doctor account, as there is no software/hardware setup required. Medikin would have set up the toll free number services and this would only take a maximum of 6 hours from the time of your request.

9. Can I manage more than one MTSO?
Yes. With Medikin Online Elite, you can work as a full-featured TASP [Transcription ASP] yourself. There is no restriction on the number of doctor or MTSO (and MT/QA1/QA2 accounts under them). You can create MT Admin accounts for your vendor/sub-contractor MTSOs so that all your work is done on the same platform and you have online access to everything.

10. What is the "Master Admin login" and what are its features?
The "Master Admin login" is the online login provided for the overall Administrator of the large MTSO from where he/she can create doctor accounts, MT Admin accounts (and MT/QA1/QA2 accounts under MT Admin), set the doctor-MT Admin linking, co-branding, and set all the functions of MT Admin.

11. How secure is Internet transmission on Medikin Online and what about HIPAA issues?
Medikin Online uses 128-bit encryption technology for file transfer, which is the same encryption standard used by the banks and other financial institutions to transfer sensitive credit card information. Therefore all of the transactions and transmissions are secure. Please refer to our HIPAA compliance policy for more details.

12. Can I have all my file transfers on a server specific to my use? Can I have all the files backed up on my server?
Yes. We can do either or both according to your specific requirements.

13. What are the initial setup costs?
