(1) Do I need to purchase the dictation equipment or will Medikin provide the same?
You can purchase the dictation system or digital recorder from the open market or from Medikin. Check out some attractive deals by contacting our sales representative.

(2) Can we use our own dictation equipment for dictating on Medikin Online?
Medikin Online is hardware and software independent, so you can keep using your existing digital recording system. Our technical staff can guide you to configure your equipment to work on Medikin Online platform.

(3) Our dictators are located outside the USA. How can they dictate on your system?
Dictators based in Canada can use all the services of digital dictation including the toll-free number services. Others can dictate on the system using digital recorders and PC dictation only.

(4) Our transcriptionists are located outside the USA. How will they obtain the audio files?
There is no restriction on the transcription workpool. A person sitting in the USA and a person sitting outside the USA get the audio files in the same way by logging onto Medikin Online with his own personal login ID and password.

(5) How long does the setup process take?
Medikin normally takes from 3 to 8 hours to set up all the user IDs and toll-free number service IDs.

(6) I want to start using your services, what is the next step?

(7) Can you accept files from a cassette tape?
Unfortunately we do not. Cassette tapes result in an analog output, and we require a digital output.

(8) Can the toll-free number dial pad be customized as per our existing dictation dial pad?
Yes, all the dictation commands can be customized as per your existing system.

(9) Will I get a detailed dictation instruction guide?
Yes. Medikin provides a detailed dictation instruction guide with telephone stickers so that the dictator never has to remember anything.

(10) Can we just use your toll-free number service?
Yes. You can use just the toll-free number dictation service without signing up for the full service package.

(11) How will I be billed?
For digital dictation, we bill on a per minute basis of the actual dictation time. This does not include any connection or pause times for dictation. The rates differ for use of the toll-free number service and use of handheld recorders as there is no long distance telephone charge for the latter, and we pass those savings onto you.

(12) What are the security measures for secure file transfer?
We use 256-bit encryption technology for the file transfers, so all of the transactions are secure.
